Wellsville Ohio run
11/20/1999 with JeepL

Well It has been a full season with the 302 and SOA setup. I thought that I might give you an update. The engine is a wonderful thing. Lots of power to run the freeways with the 35 inch tires. The Pro Injection seems to need readjusted every now and then. I had to replace the rocker arms. When I built the engine I was cheep and did not do it then. So I replaced the rockers with Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rockers ,a set of Comp Cam springs, and new valve guide seals. I have played with lots of shocks. I went with the Rancho 5010s on both the front and rear. The 5012s were a little too long for the front. I had lots of droop but only about an inch of stuff. Now I have about 3 inches of stuff and I can't tell you how much droop as I have not lifted a tire. The springs have sagged nicely. They sit almost flat. I think over the winter I will do a shackle reversal. I am also doing the crossover steering. I after much searching I found a set of knuckles. That was not an easy thing to do. I am also building up the parts for an air compresser. I don't think that I'll get it done before the spring but you never know. The BFG tires are going as soon as I get some $$$$ for a set of Swampers and a trailer. I will try to take pictures as I do the stuff but I never seem to have a camera handy. But I'll try.
