Wellsville Ohio run
11/20/1999 with JeepL

Here is my story. I know that every one has a story but I thought I would tell mine anyhow. I was born in late 1991 in Toledo, Ohio. Loaded on a truck bound for Cleveland, Ohio. I was all shiney and new when a really nice guy looked my way. By the way he looked at me I knew that he was the one that knew how to use me. I know now that he has had other ones before me. But I knew that he was in love. Sure you say, with all of the other ones there why did he pick you out of the crowd? I saw it in his eyes he was driving down the street and his head turned so far I thought that he was going snap his head from his neck. When he stopped I knew that he was there for business. I was the smallest one there. I thought if he takes me home I was in for some changes.

Well I started life on the low end. I had a 2.5 engine, AX5 transmission, and 205 tires. Boy did this man change me! The first weekend he had me he took me out with his friends and got me all dirty. After we came home he put me away and said "You are too short". Next thing I knew I was 2.5" taller and had 31" tires. That held him for the rest of the year. I did my best to keep him happy. The following spring he said "I thought that you were a four wheel drive. Then why does only one tire on each axle spin?". He pulled out a Lock Right and made me a three wheel drive.

After a trip to the Smokies he put a Tru-Trac in my front axle. He was happy once agian.

After the next trip to the Smokies he said "I love my Jeep, but this little motor needs more power to turn 33" tires."

Now I am sitting here with a Ford 302, NV435 transmission, Model 20 transfer case, and 33" tires.

The winter has passed the snow has melted but there is a lot of noise in the garage. He said something about axles.

He has finished a Spring Over Axle conversion and axle swap. Now I am sitting high and proud with my Ford running gear and 35" tires.
